The Institute is the expression of the commitment to promote research aimed at fostering organisational trends in enterprises and public bodies as well as valorising work. Our political hypothesis, widely present in the new orientations of the Commission of the EU, is that of considering organisational change, together with product innovation, as a link in the European innovation strategy, oriented towards the creation of employment and more democratic and self-regulated forms of work. Our belief is that the traditional regulatory model is wavering owing to the pressure of change in the world of work; hence, the research contribution which we aim to make, by singling out new organisational forms of work and new partnership models, focusing our research activities into the relations between these new forms and a new equilibrium among innovative strategies. We consider to be a strategic commitment the path we call "the high road to innovation", i.e. the mobilisation of the creative potential of human resources, in opposition to policies of mere cost-cutting and defensive flexibility, recreating the close relationship between process innovation and product innovation, valorising all the functions, from training to services, which each organisation's territory is capable of.
